Developing Intentionally Inclusive and Equitable Education Professionals

November 12, 2021  |  10am to 2:30pm  |  Via Zoom Meeting

This interactive webinar is designed to equip nursing educators and staff with the awareness, knowledge, and skills that can empower participants to be inclusive and equitable education professionals.

It will examine fundamental concepts and theories that will help lay the foundation to develop change agents who are committed to creating an inclusive and equitable culture, both inside and outside of the classroom. This workshop will be both an awareness building and skill building educational experience. Through this learning experience, participants will be better prepared to be agents of change within their nurse assisting programs and have an increased awareness of how to better serve the increasingly diverse student population. Participants of this workshop will walk away with increased self-awareness, knowledge, and a shared language that can help create a more inclusive and equitable educational environment that fosters a sense of belonging for both students and faculty.

  1. Unpacking the Complexities of Culture
  2. Examining the Self: Identity, Power, and Privilege
  3. Beyond Diversity: Understanding Inclusion Educational Contexts
  4. Equity Comes Before Equality: Centering Equity in the Classroom & Beyond
